about

Welcome to my new initiative, Ongoing Additions, a continuously evolving collection of recently composed and recorded works available here for free listening and downloading. I am also including some early pieces which are not available on any of my CDs

My general plan is to keep the list fairly free and open ended, adding new pieces from time to time and possibly dropping a few. So enjoy, and be sure to give me your feedback whenever you have ideas and opinions about the music! You may also listen to a variety of pieces directly from the home page of my website: www.tompkinsjazz.com, then comment, if you’d like, using the email contact link on the site.

lyrics

In three short movements, this new piece of mine "Rising Modes", covers a wide range of emotions, textures and rhythmic feel. I hope you enjoy it!! - for those of you who might be interested, all the instrumental parts, except the drums, are fully notated.
